The advantages of using youbee® to combat the varroa mite.
Function
The PTC heating layer, developed and patented by youbee®, heats the honeycomb evenly and precisely to a temperature of 42°C. The varroa mite is severely harmed or dies at temperatures of 39°C and above, while temperatures up to 43°C do not harm the bees or brood. On the contrary, the bee colony has even been observed to grow stronger.
Kind to the Bees
The hyperthermia (heat treatment) method used in the youbee® system to combat the varroa mite is chemical-free, scientifically proven and absolutely stress-free for the bees.
Saves Time
Because the youbee® system is fully automatic the time spent protecting the bees against the varroa mite can be reduced to a minimum.
Easy to Use
The only tool you need to integrate the entire youbee® system into your frames is a screwdriver, and the time needed to build it is under one minute!
Unlike chemical treatments there is no special equipment or knowledge necessary.
Economical
The cost savings when compared to the conventional formic acid treatment is 10% over a 5 year period.
The amount of beeswax used in the creation of the wax foundation can be reduced by up to 20%.
Wax
Our newly developed manufacturing process for creating the heated wax foundations means that the beekeeper can use their own wax if requested.
